IMPRESS DINNER PARTY GUESTS BY TAKING CLASSES IN FRUIT AND VEGETABLE CARVING

Got a ‘Come Dine With Me’ style competition going on amongst your friends and want to give your dinner party the wow factor? We have found the perfect way to give some flair to your dishes, as the Dusit Princess Hotel is offering classes in Fruit and Vegetable Carving throughout the summer.

‘Kaesa-lak’ – the art of fruit and vegetable carving – is performed across Asia, but many argue that the skill and finesse in Thailand is unsurpassed. The tradition has been passed down from ancient times, with masterpieces used for entertaining guests, ordinations, weddings, and special events.

There’s no denying that the intricate carvings are works of art – and it would make a great conversation starter amongst your guests. Whether you decorate a starter or use the carvings to dress a buffet, it makes a striking, creative change to regular garnish.

If you fancy giving it a go, classes are running every Wednesday throughout July and August, from 15.00 to 15.45, limited to 6 students per class. It costs just 49 AED, which includes a herbal drink and your carving to take home.
