Head to Dubai Marina with the family for free outdoor screenings of their all-time favourite films every weekend during November and December. All screenings commence at 5.30pm, ideal enough for children to enjoy a fun-evening out.
Just in time to celebrate the cool outdoor ambience, Dubai Marina Mall’s Outdoor Cinema starts on Nov. 3 (Friday), with the screening of the much-loved Dr. Dolittle, a fantasy comedy, directed by Betty Thomas, and starring Eddy Murphy as Dr. Dolittle, who has the amazing gift to speak to animals.
On Nov. 4 (Saturday), watch the Japanese animated epic historical fantasy Princess Mononoke, directed by Hayao Miyazaki, which will delight little ones and adults like with the story of a young prince who is involved in a struggle between forest gods and humans who consume its resources.
The much-loved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a superhero film directed by Jonathan Liebesman, will delight audiences on Nov. 10 (Friday), while on Nov. 11 (Saturday), they can watch Elf, a fantasy comedy directed by Jon Favreau, and starring Will Ferrell as one of Santa’s elves who learns of his identity as a human and goes to New York City to spread some cheer and meet his father.
On Nov. 17 (Friday), watch the Swiss entry to the 89th Oscar Awards for Best Foreign Language film, My Life as a Zucchini, directed by Claude Barras, and on Nov. 18 (Saturday), revel in the company of Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked directed by Mike Mitchell.
The delightful comedy Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul, directed by David Bowers, will be screened on Nov. 24 (Friday), and on Nov. 25 (Saturday), watch Ponyo, a Japanese animated comedy, also by Hayao Miyazaki, about a goldfish who befriends a five-year-old boy.
