We keep hearing about the importance and benefits of a good body scrub. Â But seriously, who really has time to spend exfoliating? Â Apart from of course the occasional scrub with loofah in the shower. Â We were however, very intrigued by the latest invitation to try out a brand new body treatment in Dubai.
We arrived at the spa 10 minutes ahead of the treatment and began by filling out a basic information form including the areas we wanted the therapist to focus on during the massage. Â After a few sips of a refreshing herbal drink and a cold towel we were led straight into the treatment room.
Once changed, the therapist began with a foot cleansing ritual that already put us into an extremely relaxed state of mind.  The Eastern Renewal treatment then began with the Super Clean Scrub applied to the entire body in a swift and intense circular motion. Using Mio’s world-famous Triple Body Buff, the Super Clean Scrub is the deepest, brightest and softest ever body polish on the spa menu. In 30 minutes the entire body had been firmly scrubbed and we went on to take a shower to wash it all off.
Next came the ultra-warming 90-minute massage. Using an exclusively designed Asian-sourced oil, containing Rosewood, Juniper, Clove and Fennel, the calming and indulgent massage was coupled with a heated ‘Back Pack’ that was placed on the body’s most tension-carrying spots to target and relieve pain and zap stress.  We definitely snoozed off a couple of times during the very zen-inducing massage.
A body scrub treatment encourages regeneration, brightens and significantly improves strength and elasticity of the skin and we could definitely see that the skin had a lovely glow to it post-treatment.
The treatment is 120 minutes long and although it isn’t very cheap (710 AED), it is extremely relaxing.
