Above Eleven invites guests to embark on a captivating culinary voyage through the diverse landscapes of Peru.
Above Eleven located in Palm Jumeirah is hosting ‘Journey Through Peru’, an immersive experience of Peruvian cuisine. Spanning three unique and exclusive menus, each available for six weeks only, diners are invited to explore Peru’s coastal, mountainous, and jungle regions through its cuisine.
While Chapter 1: Coastal Cuisine ended in July, we were lucky enough to experience Chapter 2: Andean Delights. The focus shifts to Peru’s mountainous landscape and menu two takes diners on a culinary expedition through the Andes, where diners delve into the richness of quinoa, savour the earthy flavours of slow-cooked Andean stews, and experience the delicate balance of textures and tastes in dishes inspired by centuries-old recipes passed down through generations. Each ingredient tells a story of resilience and adaptation, sourced directly from local farmers and indigenous communities from the Andes.
The first course is trout tartare served with yellow croquette potatoes and seabass antioucho with corn and avocado. In the main course there is wagyu tenderloin and lamb shank. The dessert is a sweet corn cake topped with corn and cheese ice cream. We adore the abundant use of the humble ingredients like corn, quinoa and potatoes, that are cooked in a unique traditional manner and their taste truly stands-out. The quality of the meat dishes is also top-notch and it quite literally melts in the mouth.
Each menu is presented in a beautifully illustrated scrapbook, inspired by Chef Luis’s own stories and learnings about Peru’s rich culinary heritage and biodiversity. Encouraging guests to truly take their own ‘Journey Through Peru,’ they will receive a book on their first visit, and on subsequent visits, they’ll unlock special discounts throughout the journey.

Chapter 2: Andean Delights is available from July 1-August 18 and is priced at 350 AED if you adventured through chapter 1, chapter 2 is priced at 299 AED per person.
