Vida Downtown’s Urban Picnic goes Latin!

Want to experience a taste of Latin America? Then head on over to Vida Downtown because their Urban Picnic will take you on a Latin American journey from the moment you step in and you are handed over a passport with a map of all the stations.

A spacious venue, we recommend booking a cabana outside that overlooks the pool and bar. The chilled out atmosphere includes a photo booth complete with a sombrero and other accessories. The food stations are spread out both indoors and outdoors-the live cooking stations are all outside.

Let us warn you, the selection is huge, so pace yourself. Of course, you must being with the nachos that are served with traditional chilli con carne, guacamole, sour cream and salsa.

There is a wide variety of salads-from build your own to little jars filled with quinoa and other healthy options. It is however the pizza made to order in the brick oven that is one of the highlights. Named after iconic personalities such as Fidel Castro, the toppings beef, chili, pineapple and turkey.

We must admit we made several stops at the live barbeque station for their smoked beef brisket and slow cooked lamb served with a delicious chimichurri sauce.

Once we were finally done with the savory, we finally headed back inside for dessert and were amazed by the large selection. There is everything from coffee-flavored to elaborate cakes. But after much deliberation, we opted for the churro station.
