Savor the flavors of Thailand at the Bangkok Night Market every Monday at Spice Emporium starting at 7pm.
You don’t have to travel to Thailand to enjoy the famous street food as you can find it right here in Dubai. Every Monday evening starting at 7pm sharp, Spice Emporium hosts the Bangkok Night Market.
An interactive dining experience in a rustic outdoor setting, they offer an impressive line-up of kiosks serving tasty traditional favorites. There is music playing in the background and an entertainer performing a traditional Thai dance on an elevated stage. Guests are invited to walk around, and pick the dishes of their choice (a difficult choice as you are surrounded by so many tempting aromas).
We watched as our crunchy papaya salad was put together with the fresh ingredients laid out on the table. From the long list of soups, our personal favorite was the beef noodle -a hearty dish that will instantly warm you up.
The wok station is truly captivating as the chefs skillfully prepare the food right in front of you on a blazing hot fire. Our order of chicken cashew nuts, beef with oyster sauce, prawn pad thai and vegetable fried rice were all exploding with flavor and served piping hot, straight from the wok.
If you want something lighter, then head over to the seafood section that has an impressive display of fresh catch including mussels, octopus, squid, seabream, sherry, red snapper and much more. The items you choose are then delicately grilled and brought to the table with a dipping sauce on the side.
There is one kiosk strictly dedicated to freshly squeezed juices made with exotic Thai fruits. Once dinner is finally done, do try the original Thai dessert, Ruam Mit. Made with coconut milk and sugar, tapioca balls, corn and sweet potato chunks this cool and refreshing dessert is a must-try.
The Bangkok Night Market is really the only place in Dubai to experience the true flavors of Thailand, in an authentic setting. It is an exhilarating and exciting culinary evening that is definitely worth trying.
Bangkok Night Market takes place every Monday night from 7pm-11pm and costs 195 AED per person (food only).
