THE CROWDS ARE FLOCKING FOR GOOD REASON TO THIS NEWCOMER BAKERY

From Scandi-inspired pastries to slow-fermented ancient grain breads, Bkry offers the best selection of baked goods in Dubai.

Tucked away in the heart of Al Serkal, you will spot the queue here before you spot Bkry itself – winding along through the street, guests are willing to brave the heat to try out the freshly hand-baked sourdough breads and artisan pastries. The time will pass by quickly because one can’t help but be mesmerised by the bakers working their magic in the open kitchen and the intoxicating smell of the freshly baked goods that engulfs the entire space.

The decor is very modern and minimal but also comfortable and inviting. The staff is friendly and working hard to make sure they seat everyone quickly, but also at the same time respectful of the guests that are dining-making sure they enjoy the entire experience-and their long wait is well worth the effort.

The coffee beans are roasted in-house and the flat white packs a punch. The breakfast menu is concise and tempting. We were told the Berries on Toast, a combination of fresh berries, bkry’s homemade peanut butter and apricot & orange jam atop a slice of perfectly toasted sourdough drizzled with strawberry cheong, freeze-dried raspberries, toasted almonds, and mint, is a new addition. These delightful summer flavours work perfectly together and very pleasing for the tastebuds.

Another new dish is the Wild Mushroom on Toast, featuring a medley of fried chickpeas, vadouvan zaatar, wild mushrooms sautéed in beef fat, pickled shimeji mushrooms, house tare sauce, boursin and feta cheese, and chervil on toast. An innovative combination of ingredients that work so well together, this is a filling dish and a great alternative to eggs.

There is a long list of delectable sweet and savoury pastries to try. One of our favourites has to be the The Zatar Croissant-which brings a Middle Eastern flair to the menu, made with Palestinian za’atar with sumac and olive oil infused with herb cream cheese, it is moreish and very hard to resist. The Brisket Croissant with Tomato Jam is a combination we never thought we could love so much.

In the sweet selection the Pecan Salted Caramel Croissant is a decadent treat that is worth every calorie-combining buttery, flaky perfection with a sweet, nutty twist-we had to bring a few back home! The Pain Au Chocolate was golden and crispy on the outside and topped with melted cacao nibs. The luscious Tanzanian milk chocolate filling is unreal!

At Bkry you can pick any of the baked goods and you won’t go wrong-these truly are some of the best we have ever had in Dubai!

We will be making repeat pilgrimage to this bakery haven!

Bkry is located in Al Serkal Avenue and open daily from 8 am.
