3Fils restaurant in Dubai offers a seasonal menu in a cozy atmosphere.
We finally made it to 3Fils, a restaurant we had been tipped off about when it first opened its doors. Tucked away in the Jumeirah Fishing Harbour, it is a homegrown restaurant that serves Asian cuisine with a Japanese twist. We love the minimal decor-there is a sushi counter at the front, where you can watch the head chef busy creating his dishes. There is outdoor seating overlooking the harbor for the cooler months.
The menu is concise and offers seasonal dishes that all sound very tempting. We began with the dragon rolls (35 AED)-shrimp tempura with a spicy gouchujang sauce and picked onions. Crispy and full of flavor, it was a great way to start the meal. The spicy tuna rolls (40 AED) delivered their promise of being spicy and we thoroughly enjoyed every last bite. We took a chance on the asparagus roll topped with a fried egg and sprinkled with truffle. If we see this dish on the menu again, we will be sure to order it. The Fremantle octopus (50 AED) was served on a bed of leek and potato puree and topped with a flavorful gremolata.
We left space for the African Power House dessert (35 AED) and it was totally worth every calorie. The rich Ghana dark chocolate cake came with a side of Madagascan ice cream.
We are delighted to have discovered 3Fils-the service is friendly, the food is top-notch, the prices are excellent value and the ambience is cozy. What more could we possibly ask for?
