Japanese might not be the first thought that comes to mind when you want to avoid the kitchen and order a home delivery – but once you have tasted the beautifully fresh sushi selections from Haru, based in both Dubai Marina and Green Community, you will be adding the menu to the top of the stack.
We recently ordered food from the Dubai Marina branch, situated in Jumeirah Beach Residence, and it arrived within 20 minutes (impressive for a Saturday night). The menu has a tempting choice of appetizers – including steamed dumplings, light salads, and tempting meat bites, served with traditional sauces – but the real pull of ordering from this place is the sushi, which can be ordered individually (5 pieces per order) or in selections (9 pieces to 75 pieces).
After a little investigation online (despite being sushi lovers, we still find the different names confusing and the menu does little to explain), we opted for the Maguro Zukashi selection and a portion of edamame. The edamame was perfect – not too soft, sprinkled lightly with Okinawa salt, and the ideal portion for an appetizer. Whilst the sushi selection blew us away… We had asked for a mix of Salmon and Tuna – and both were incredibly fresh, light, and tender. As you’d expect, the portion came with Soy sauce, pickled ginger, wasabi, and sets of chopsticks. Despite the generous portion, it was gone far too quickly and we wished we had ordered more!
We had never considered that takeaway food could be so light and healthy – and Haru certainly doesn’t disappoint on the taste factor. It’s affordable too, with our order costing less than 100 AED. We will definitely be ordering again soon.Haru Robatayaki menu can be viewed online at www.haru.ae Dubai Marina – 04 4370134 Green Community – 04 8853897
