La Voile Rouge is a French Mediterranean restaurant located in the DIFC.
La Voile Rouge was once one of the most famed beach clubs in St Tropez and now it has an unusual location in the heart of DIFC. Tucked away inside Al Fattan Currency House, it is within a much quieter office building and a bit of a maze to find. Once inside the restaurant though we found ourselves browsing through the photos of all the celebrities that were regulars at the original French location.
Here in Dubai it is a lot quieter and has a very relaxed but welcoming ambiance. The menu features a variety of French delicacies made with fresh ingredients. The culinary journey through the flavors of France begins with freshly baked bread that is very hard to resist. Next is a luscious cup of trufflecino-silky smooth mashed potatoes topped with truffle, this is an absolute delight!
The refreshing salmon tartare is served with cured with lemon cream and potato darphin and topped with fresh mint, oil and dill. Our order of the salmon carpaccio as a bit more zing to it because of the vibrant espelette pepper and chopped chives.
From the mains we were quick to polish off the plate of grilled spicy shrimp. Our order of the baby chicken was succulent and tender and we quite enjoyed the sauce with it. We ended our meal with a generous slice of matcha cheesecake.
