SAVOUR STEAK FRITES THE FRENCH WAY AT LE RELAIS DE L’ENTRECOTE IN DUBAI

The original Parisian steak-frites institution, Le Relais de L’Entrecôte, known for its legendary secret sauce, is now in Dubai.

There aren’t many places in Dubai that operate on a walk-in-only basis, but Le Relais de L’Entrecôte — the original, beloved Parisian restaurant — is one exception we’re all happy to wait in line for. This family-owned restaurant, dating back to 1959, has brought its iconic recipe for expertly crafted steak-frites — served with a legendary secret sauce — to Dubai.

Bringing a piece of its Parisian charm, the space is adorned with wood panelling, colourful tablecloths, vintage posters, and a handwritten menu.

Once we settled in and let our server know our preferred steak doneness, we were promptly served their signature walnut salad, dressed in a simple mustard vinaigrette with a slight kick to it. The freshly made bread and butter is the perfect accompaniment.

Le Relais de L’Entrecôte is renowned for its signature tender sirloin steak, drizzled with a secret sauce—a cherished recipe known only to a select few—a refreshing walnut salad, and dreamy golden thin-cut French fries.

Then arrives the showstopper: entrecôte — perfectly plated slices of tender sirloin, topped with a generous ladle of their signature sauce, and accompanied by a heaping pile of ultra-thin, golden fries. The meal is served in two rounds to ensure everything stays piping hot — and while finishing the second plate was a challenge, the combination of crispy fries, creamy sauce, and perfectly cooked meat was simply too good to leave behind.

There’s a delightful selection of desserts, and we went for the sharing plate of profiteroles — light choux pastry filled with vanilla ice cream and generously drizzled with warm, velvety chocolate sauce. The perfect sweet note to end the meal on.
