Tidjoori is a vegan restaurant based in Dubai Marina serving healthy and delicious food.
The thought of giving up meat sends us into a panic. So, of course we had our doubts about the latest vegan restaurant in Dubai. Although we did delay visiting it several times, we finally made our way to Tidjoori on a quiet weekday afternoon.
Inside the decor is fairly simple and minimalistic, but the live green wall makes a real statement. There is also an outdoor terrace that is ideal for the cooler months. We began the meal with a complimentary tray of freshly baked bread with a tofu butter. Of course, we had never tried let alone heard of tofu butter-it had a soft and airy texture and it tasted good.
For our main we ordered the Lemon and Turmeric Risotto (54 AED). Filling and comforting, we thoroughly enjoyed the combination of pureed eggplant with spinach and rice. We had also ordered two of the pizzas (59 AED each) that were both really delicious. Thin crust and perfectly based, one came with a topping off eggplant, kale and spinach and other other was a vegan diner kebab topped with avocado (an unusual combination gaining popularity), cherry tomato and red onions.
The service was efficient and attentive and the food really did stand out. This is the type of place that may not be on your radar but once you try it out, you will definitely be back for more.
