Small village-style delis are few and far between in Dubai, so when we stumble upon a good one, it is quickly added to our list of favourite addresses in the city. Park Central – one our of latest discoveries – might be based in a congested area on Sheikh Zayed Road, but not even the location stops us from heading back time and time again.
We can’t get enough of the delicious labneh, chutneys, and jams, which are made in their on-site kitchen. Some flavours are more unique than others and not always to our taste, but the deli section has an excellent choice of cold cuts, pickles, and olives that are all regionally sourced. The menu features salads, sandwiches, and main courses that the chef is happy to alter according to dietary or personal requests (not something that is often offered elsewhere in Dubai). The wooden oven ensures delicious, authentic pizzas that are a must-try.
Park Central is also the perfect place to re-stock the kitchen cupboards, with a great selection of healthy cereals, juices, grains, dairy, and cooking products on the shelves. Most products are organic and exclusively available in Dubai.
The mark of an exceptional neighbourhood deli is the impeccable service and friendly staff. Better still, the deli is open 24-hours a day for dine-in or delivery all around Dubai – so we never again have to resort to eating junk food late at night!
