EXPERIENCE A CULTURAL IFTAR IN DUBAI

Sheikh Muhammad bin Rashid Centre for Cultural Understanding (SMCCU) hosts public and private Iftars throughout Ramadan

Held in the courtyard of our wind-tower house in the heart of Al Fahidi District, the Historical Emirati neighbourhood, the evening begins with the “Athan” (the call to prayer) followed by the breaking of the fast with your Emirati hosts. Guest can enjoy Arabic coffee and dates and then take a moment to watch their hosts pray, before a delicious selection of Emirati dishes are served for Iftar. During the event, guests are invited to ask any questions they may have about Ramadan, the culture or the traditions of the UAE. After Iftar, guests are invited to visit the Diwan Mosque, before returning to SMCCU house for dessert and tea.

SMCCU’s Iftars are known and loved for their cultural and peaceful setting, and for offering a unique experience for tourists and residents alike. This year, Iftars will start on Wednesday 8th May, and will be held throughout Ramadan daily until Saturday 1st June.
