We have Instagram to thank for this latest discovery, Mazaraa Kitchen in Al Jaddaf. This farm to table café and shop is tucked away in a modern building in the area. The intimate decor and attention to detail give this place a very charming vibe.
There is a large outdoor terrace with herbs growing on one side and the gorgeous view of the creek. Indoors the retail corner is extensive and everything is from the family farm. You can purchase fresh juices, tahini and even camel leather goods. Other quirky details include a glass mounted beehive, recycle compost bins, beetroot growing in small vases and avocado seeds replanted in cups.
You can also stock up on all types of fresh bakery items including bread loaves and the most moist banana bread slices-we indulged in two of those!
The menu offers an all-day breakfast from which we just had to try the shakshouka. Flavorful and filling, it is the perfect dish to share. The hearty mushroom risotto was cooked to perfection and definitely a winner. We noticed the popularity of the pizzas and picked a simple margherita and it that had the most perfect crust.
We were curious about the homemade ice cream and although the chocolate is a classic, the banana is more of a guilt-free pleasure that we quite enjoyed.
