CLAY OFFERS NIKKEI CUISINE WITH AN ICONIC VIEW OF DUBAI

Clay at Bluewaters Dubai serves the best of Japanese-Peruvian cuisine.

Bluewaters Dubai is the latest hotspot in town in terms of dining and entertainment. Launched in November 2018, it is a sophisticated waterfront island destination with a pioneering spirit. It is home to a quixotic blend of tranquil island living with the exhilaration of city life. Located just 500 meters off the coast, opposite The Beach, Bluewaters is a lively, family-oriented destination with a diverse range of places and experiences that will leave you spoilt for choice. The island is home to a host of landmark attractions from Caesar’s Palace, the world-renowned five-star luxury hotel fronted by pristine shoreline, to the region’s first Madame Tussauds and children’s play haven Tr88house.

Bluewaters also boasts some of the city’s most original dining concepts bringing flavours from across India, China, England and beyond in one cultural culinary melting pot. Sip, dine and treat your way through the stretching avenues – and stay at distinct hospitality experiences exclusive to the island. Not just a dining and entertainment destination, you can also live in one of the fantastic modern buildings on the island. Along with fabulous views, the buildings offer a premium lifestyle for the whole family with residential amenities including state-of-the-art gymnasiums, swimming pools, landscaped gardens, basketball courts and children’s play areas.

The island is connected to the mainland via a direct road link to Sheikh Zayed Road and a 265-metre pedestrian bridge linking the island to more lifestyle opportunities at JBR The Walk.

We headed there to try out Clay restaurant that we had already heard a lot about from our friends in Bahrain. Offering Nikkei cuisine, Clay already has made a fine reputation for itself in Bahrain, and even won the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards for the Middle East & Africa Luxury category.

Designed by a renowned interior architect, the space is set to inspire! Rich marble, elemental textures, eccentric and magnetic patterns, and artistic centerpieces make for a lush, electric, and Instagrammable interior. A spacious and lively space, the interior is appealing and immediately pulls you in.

Offering a journey of culture and flavor, Clay asks diners to encounter Nikkei, a Japanese-Peruvian cuisine melting hearts across the globe. This is food inspired by the elements and ignited by two cultures who came together to create something remarkable. Clay’s kitchen combines classic ingredients and intricate techniques to create dishes that are at once diverse and intriguing, familiar yet unknown.

On the menu each dish represents the Japanese diaspora in the far off land of Peru. From appetizers such as the flavorsome Moriawase Al Fuego, fresh Sushi selection, a variety of Leche de Tigre-marinated Ceviche, and an impressive Robatayaki spread, the elevated dining venue takes guests on a culinary journey to encounter Nikkei.

We absolutely adored everything we tried-from the tuna tacos to the short ribs, each dish was perfectly executed. The presentation along with the seasoning and the quality were all on point.

The meal must end on a sweet note, the signature Lacuma dessert.

Aside from the sumptuous dishes and gorgeous views, nighttime transforms the ambiance of the Nikkei site. Live performances from the inhouse DJ, and the resident percussionist elevates the whole experience with energizing tunes.

Clay is exactly what Bluewaters Dubai needed!
