Cassette offers great food, coffee and inspiration.
The Courtyard, Al Quoz has a quaint and charming feel that we absolutely adore. If you are looking for a place to work, hangout or just simply have a great meal there, find a table at Cassette a bistro with a “Modern Parisian Direction.” The bright and airy decor is the first thing that captivated us about it. The leafy plants, posters on the wall (we want them all!) and the laid-back atmosphere all make the place extremely appealing.
The one-page menu includes all-day breakfast, lunch or dinner. From healthy dishes to comfort food (yes, they have sweet potato fries), artisanal coffee, variety of teas, homemade juices and seasonal drinks, there is something for every taste. Oh, and there is a kid’s menu also-so don’t be afraid to bring the little ones along.
We headed there for lunch and although the breakfast dishes looked very tempting we went ahead and picked a few dishes from the main menu. The pan fried seabass served with sweet potatoes, sweet corn purée, baby potatoes, black olives, cherry tomatoes and a lemon butter cream was hearty and delicious.
We also tried the French beef dip sandwich-braised beef with cheddar cheese and homemade pickled jalapeño on a toasted baguette. Served with beef au jus fries this dish was messy but very satisfying. A generous portion, we struggled to finish the last few bites.
We ended the meal with a slice of banana bread that was served with a homemade compote. Although we were very full from our meal, this moist bread accompanied with artisanal coffee was a great way to end such a good meal.
