ROMANTIC DINNER OF VENETIAN CUISINE WITH JAPANESE ACCENTS

All’onda is an Italian Venetian restaurant located at Emerald Kempinski.

The Emerald Palace Kempinski is quickly establishing itself as a dining hotspot in Dubai. The latest restaurant we were invited to experience is All’onda. Developed in partnership with the renowned chef Chris Jaeckle, the menu takes a fresh modern approach to traditional Italian food.

Sitting on top of the decadent Emerald Palace Kempinski Dubai, we chose to sit in the fabulous outdoor terrace that offers uninterrupted views of the Dubai skyline and the Arabian gulf.

The menu is inspired by Venetian cuisine, which over the centuries was at the epicentre of the trade routes between east and west. The quintessential Italian dishes all have elements of Asian and near Asian influences.

We began with yellow tail soaked in soy and topped with pak choy and wagyu beef carpaccio served with black truffle cream and pickled king mushroom. Both dishes had very different flavor compositions but the rich and vibrant flavors was a common denominator for both.

For the pasta course we picked the buffalo ravioli and this familiar dish was given a novel twist with the addition of miso.

The flow of dishes continued with Venetian Sea Bass on a flavorful sauce of clams, beans and sake. Our last and final savory dish was the superbly tender, classic Wagyu beef tagliata topped with soft burrata.

By the time the dessert course rolled on, we didn’t have much room to try the more decadent chocolate treats. Instead we picked the green tea-misu. A clever take on the traditional coffee soaked tiramisu.

All’onda offers masterful, beautifully presented dishes in a sophisticated setting. You won’t regret picking it for a special occasion!
