TASTY PERSIAN CUISINE

When the food at newly opened Jam-e-Jaam was described to us as both “delicious” and “authentic” by an Iranian expat living in Dubai, we couldn’t get to the restaurant to taste it fast enough…

Based in a two-storey villa on Jumeirah Beach Road, the interior of Jam-e-Jaam is spacious – but if you prefer, there is also a garden where you can sit and eat under tents. The menu includes international options – but take our advice and ignore those dishes, as the restaurant is famous for its Persian cuisine and that is why so many Dubai foodies are flocking to its door.

The starters might not be complex or sophisticated, but they were definitely tasty. We started with Kashk-e Bademjan – an eggplant spread/dip – and a prawn Meighoo salad, served with thin, flat bread. The prawns were fresh and flavorsome, served with a creamy white dressing.

For our main courses, we chose a Kebab Bekhtyari (chicken and beef) and a Khoresht Baamieh (lamb stew with okra), both served with mouth-watering Rice Tah Chin – baked saffron rice, made with egg and yoghurt and slightly sweet. We can definitely recommend this dish.

The food is simple and very tasty – and the restaurant offers great value for money for its prime location. Expect to pay around 175 AED for a 2-course meal, including drinks and coffee. Be aware that portions are huge and that the dishes would have been sufficient for three people.
