This charming homegrown cafe has just revamped their menu.
The Courtyard in Al Quoz has the kind of quaint charm we always love coming back to. If you are looking for somewhere to settle in for a good meal, Cassette is an easy choice-a bright, airy café with plenty of character. Leafy plants, art-covered walls (we would happily take them all home), and the relaxed, creative atmosphere make it one of those places you instantly feel comfortable in.
Inspired by the charm of classic French bistro, the new menu focuses on comfort and balance, with generous yet unfussy dishes that feel satisfying without being heavy-the kind you can enjoy at any time of day.
If you want to start your day at CASSETTE, then the wholesome Potato Rösti, a crisp Swiss-style pancake layered with crème fraîche, cream cheese, chives, soft-boiled egg, and smoked salmon is a solid choice. For something a bit more indulgent Pain Perdu du Matin, golden brioche French toast caramelised and served with maple syrup, fresh strawberries, and vanilla crème will hit the spot.
For lighter bites, the Comté & Onion Croquettes pair nutty French cheese with caramelised onion, served alongside truffle mayo and onion purée, indulgent yet satisfying. Starters continue the Parisian narrative, from the silky Chicken Liver Mousse with brioche and apple compote to the refreshing Carrot Râpée à la Parisienne, dressed in lemon mustard and finished with toasted sesame. A must-try is the Steak Tartare & Caviar Sandwich-layers tenderloin with gherkin, shallot, capers and parsley on a French baguette, finished with caviar for a refined nod to classic French brasserie flavours.
In the mains, The Roast Baby Chicken “Grand-Mère”, prepared in the traditional grandmother’s style, is served with mushroom purée, caramelised shallots, king oyster mushrooms, and rich chicken jus. Another firm favourite is the French Dip Sandwich layers pulled beef with Gruyère, caramelised onions, and horseradish mayo on a toasted baguette, accompanied by house beef jus for dipping.
For dessert the Profiteroles, filled with whipped vanilla cream and dipped in dark chocolate are rich without feeling heavy.
