THAI CHARM

The streets of Bangkok have a vibrant hustle and bustle of people, food carts and vendors-a character that is distinct and exciting.  When we heard about Little Bangkok, an eatery located in Jumeirah Lake Towers we were curious to see if it could live up to its ambitious name.

From the moment we arrived we adored its casual and laid-back canteen type vibe.  The indoor décor is urban yet cozy but the added bonus is the outdoor space that overlooks the lake-perfect to enjoy for now before the weather gets unbearably warm.  There is also a small retail corner filled with all types of sauces and other typically Thai ingredients for those wanting to try their hand at cooking.

We started the meal with Yum Tua Pu, a spicy prawn salad with coconut and chili dressing-fresh and delectable it was an explosion of flavors.

Our main course was the Pad Med Mamuang, seafood with a medley of vegetables cooked in a light sauce and topped with crunchy cashew nuts-appetizing and tasty it went well with our side dish of sticky rice.

The menu has plenty to pick from and we love that most of the main dishes come with a choice of meat, chicken and seafood.

We will definitely be back for more not only because the prices are very affordable (about 40AED for a main) but also because it has that simple charm reminiscent of eateries in the heart of Bangkok.
