We have to admit our knowledge of Greek food was only limited to Greek Salad and Gyros till we found a new restaurant at The Beach in JBR serving authentic Greek cuisine.
One look at the Eat Greek menu and we couldn’t help but marvel at all the different choices available-the menu reflects on the region’s rich ingredients including cheese, eggplants, sardines and prawns.
We started the meal off with baked feta that we slathered onto bread and enjoyed every bite. The stuffed squid served with herbed yogurt was delicate and flavorful.
We couldn’t help ourselves but order Tzatziki, the ubiquitous Greek dip that is featured in every Greek menu. A combination of thick yogurt and grated cucumbers it had a subtle hint of garlic-simple flavors that worked in perfect harmony, making it a stellar dish.
The star of the evening apart from the humble Tzatziki was the Octopus. A staple Greek favorite, the tentacles were served perfectly intact and grilled to perfection. Tender and moist, it was hands down our favorite dish that we will be returning for soon enough.
Eat Greek has a casual setting that is warm and homely-reminiscent of those beachside eateries with tons of character along the Mediterranean Sea.  Although the staff can be a bit too pushy and overbearing at times, we have been back several times since the opening. A reasonably priced joint, it is a good spot for dinner when out with friends in the Marina.
