A cool and affordable Iftar to try for Ramadan in Dubai

As you have already noticed they are an endless choices for Iftar in Dubai during Ramadan but since we try and avoid buffets, we were very keen on reviewing the new “Ramadan Garden’ dining concept located at A4 Space in Al Quoz that we were invited to.

During Ramadan until Eid, A4 Space in Al Quoz has been completely transformed into an enchanting indoor urban oasis with hanging plants, jars, lanterns and fairy lights to evoke a typical summer picnic ambience. An iconic vintage Citroen H van stands at the centre of the groundfloor where the Iftar takes place while the mezzanine level can be privatized for group of 10 and above.

Ghaf RamadanIftar menu started off – well – with dates and lentil soup served in, delicious marinated feta cheese, beetroot hummous and house-cured olives with labnan served with a straw in pretty retro glass bottles.

For the main, we had a choice between a roasted corn-fed chicken (too dry for our taste) with piri-piri sauce and posh slaw plus fries or a roast leg of lamb (our favourite) with salsa verde or “fish and chips” type of dish: a finger sandwich made with breaded haddock, mushy peas and fries.

For the final desert note, there was also a choice of three tempting treats – our favourite being the lemon tart.

Overall the food was very simple but it is more the concept that it is appealing and the simplicity the menu that we enjoyed: a no-fuss evening and best of all no waste of food.
