At The Farm you won’t feel like you are in Dubai
Winter is the best time to be outdoors in Dubai, and one of our favourite spots to spend time during the cooler months, is The Farm at Al Barari-a café set in a lush green exotic desert oasis.
With easy access from the city (only 20 minutes from Dubai Mall) you literally drive through ‘a tropical jungle” to access the restaurant.
Surrounded by landscaped gardens and a small pond, The Farm café offers a lovely green contrast to the desert that surrounds it. The café has a large leafy outdoor area and an incredibly peaceful vibe and comfortable seating.
The restaurant is open all day but it is their breakfast that we wanted to try. The menu offers the usual morning options along with an interesting array of healthy dishes with some creative gluten-free options.
We started our meal with Poached egg on Tapioca and Potato hash (40 AED)-a simple dish. Our order of Salmon Starta, was a rather filling dish in comparison made with scrambled eggs cooked with salmon, garlic and mustard seed and parmesan cheese served on top of a rye English muffin (40 AED)– we thoroughly enjoyed this moist dish that had an interesting combination of flavours.
Curious about their gluten-free dishes, we ordered coconut pancakes (42 AED) with blueberries. Served with chocolate sauce and maple syrup on the side, they are actually much lighter in both texture and taste than the regular all-wheat version. We also tried the Chocolate and banana Panini (32 AED) – an indulgent dish made with toasted brioche that kids would also love and is big enough for two to share.
We particularly like their gluten-free options that are quite rare to find and included gluten free bread, gluten free waffles and pancakes.
Overall, The Farm is the ultimate place to unwind from the hustle bustle of the city in an absolutely breathtaking setting.
