Dubai is also hosting the Wings For Life World Run that raises money towards finding a cure for spinal-cord injuries.
The Wings for Life World Run is taking place simultaneously on May 3rd in 35 cities around the globe including Dubai. Â An international not-for-profit spinal cord research foundation, Wings for Life has a mission is to find a cure for spinal cord injury. They fund world-class scientific research and clinical trials around the globe aimed at healing the injured spinal cord.
A fun 5k race, a 10k race, it’s a marathon race, it’s whatever distance race you want it to be. What makes the Wings for Life World Run such a fun race is that it is completely different to any you have run in before. Instead of racing to a set finish line, you run away from the Catcher Car. Everyone, at the 35 locations worldwide, starts running at 11am on May 3, 2015, then 30 minutes later, the Catcher Car sets off, chasing runners until the last person is left standing.
Happening for the first time in Dubai, the race is open to  anyone over the age of 18 . A race for all levels, from beginners to professionals, teens to seniors, no experience needed. Join the thousands of other runners and wheelchair participants on the starting line and share in this global running race, this global phenomenon.
The race registration fee goes directly towards spinal cord research, and the official partner Red Bull is covering all the cost of administration in Dubai.
Last year the global run raised US$4 million (Dh1.5m).
As the deadline for the registration is now closed you can head directly to the venue for on site registrations that will be possible until 9 am (2 hours) before the start of the race.
