We stumbled upon ‘Judith Hobby Clothing’ by chance – and it has quickly become one of our favourite Dubai-based fashion labels. Named after the designer herself, the collection is a reflection of her own casual, yet chic sense of style – and we definitely recommend a browse of the rails.

Reminiscent of Jill Sander, DKNY, and All Saints, the brand caters to women with a keen sense of style and love for fashion.  The pieces are primarily monochrome, so if you’re someone who prefers to wear bright colours and loud prints, it might not be the collection for you. However, Judith Hobby has a real passion for what she does. Every item is stitched impeccably, with real attention to detail in the quality, cut, and design.

The flowing cardigans are our collection highlight (200 AED each). Made in fine cotton, they are perfect for throwing on during the Dubai ‘winter’, whilst traveling, or to keep you warm in air-conditioned malls.

The long wrap-around dresses in striped jersey material look great on the hangers but are too clingy and stick in all the wrong places – we definitely prefer the plain cotton versions that can be worn either casually or formally.  The palazzo pants might not look flattering, but it’s worth trying them on – we were surprised by how good they looked.

Prices start at 150 AED for basic tops, with nothing costing more than 400 AED, making the collection surprisingly affordable for Dubai. The website isn’t live yet, so the designer’s Facebook page is the only way to check the collection and get in touch to set up an appointment.  If you have a fun, boho-chic sense of style, it’s definitely worth the effort.
