We all love browsing and buying in Dubai’s huge, airy malls – but it sometimes leaves us craving a more personal, boutique experience. Whilst strolling in Umm Suqeim, we stumbled upon IF Boutique and it quickly satisfied those shopping urges…
Rails lining the walls of the converted villa are packed with exquisite clothes and accessories from a range of renowned international designers. We spotted pieces by Yohi Yamamoto, Ann Demeulemeester, Tsumori Chisato, Comme des Garcons, AF Vandervorst, and Kolor, alongside covetable accessories by Monica Trevisi. The style is eclectic, but very wearable.
Only one of each piece is kept on the shop floor in a manner than reminded us of Browns on London’s Bond Street. That gives the boutique and its stock an exclusive, unique feel (there’s little chance of arriving at a party wearing the same dress as another guest if you shop at IF Boutique !). If you want a different size, however, the attentive staff will be more than willing to assist.
This is not the place to come if you are nearing the end of your monthly budget… The pieces are high fashion and that has a steep asking price. What you get in return, however, are rich fabrics, expert craftsmanship, and an individuality that you just can’t find at Dubai’s super malls. It might take a little longer to get there, but it is well worth the trip…
