Wokyo brings the noodle bar concept born in the streets of Tokyo to Dubai.
If you are looking for an authentic noodle bar then look no further than Wokyo. Tucked away in the heart of Jumeirah Lake Towers, this casual eatery has brought the great Far East noodle tradition straight to Dubai.
We were recently invited to experience Wokyo, a casual eatery where you will be greeted by the staff when you walk in. The concept is simple-pick a sauce, base, protein and add a few favourites and then watch it getting prepared in the open kitchen. If you are impatient, take advantage of the games corner and pick a board game to kill some time.
We began with an order of crispy renkon chips (12 AED). Thinly sliced these were highly addictive and we finished the entire bowl very quickly. The Korean pancake rolls (15 AED) were light and refreshing.
For our main bowl (37 AED) we picked the Singapore sauce with buckwheat noodles, prawn, shittake mushrooms, pepper mix and bean sprouts. The combination of the rich and crunchy peanut sauce with the vegetables and noodles made a full-flavoured bowl.
Our second order (37 AED) was the Bangkok curry, udon noodle, chicken, prawn and shittake mushroom. The thick noodles with the coconut curry sauce and the pile of mushroom on top was simply delicious. We washed it all down with iced matcha tea (5 AED).
Overall, Wokyo is affordable, healthy and quick.  It is a must add to your address book as the perfect spot to satisfy your noodle cravings.
