Not everyone has the same taste in food, but there seems to be a lot of us in Dubai that are keen to escape the lavish restaurants in fancy hotels and find authentic and affordable eateries in the heart of the city. Our hunt for just that led us to find Innalay Asia; a tiny and unpretentious restaurant serving typical Burmese cuisine.
Our standard question at the beginning of a meal is to ask the nationality of the chef – so imagine our delight when the Burmese waitress replied “Myanmar.” The cosy restaurant might be no frills, but you can expect authentic, simple, and tasty Burmese cuisine.
Our recommendations include the refreshing and healthy Tomato and Sesame Salad and the comforting Hmee Shay-Chicken Noodles in a spicy paste. The extensive menu also includes Hakau Prawn Dumplings and Chicken Curry Malaysian Style.
Innalay Asia offers a casual dining experience in an al fresco setting, with food that contains familiar Asian ingredients cooked in a unique style.
