THE RESTAURANT THAT INDIANS RAVE ABOUT

The best indian restaurant in Dubai?

We’re usually too lazy to make the trek over to Deira in the car, but with our Indian friends raving about their favourite restaurant in this part of town, our curiosity got the better of us…

The Bombay is marketed as a North Indian restaurant, but they serve dishes from all over the country, with each region having a different style of cooking. We found our mouths watering just reading the choices and ordered a long list of items from the menu.

We started with what was hands-down our favourite – Bhindi Anarkali; a vegetarian dish cooked with tiny pieces of okra in a tomato sauce and pomegranate powder. We can’t wait to head back for more.

Tawa Murgh was also delicious; succulent pieces of chicken cooked in a thick peanut gravy, which worked perfectly with the piping hot naan bread.  The Bhagare Baingan – eggplant cooked with spices – also caught our attention and definitely didn’t disappoint.

The service is great, although the ambience and decor are slightly lacking so it’s best to head there with your mind totally focused on the food..We were pleased to discover that the restaurant is willing to adjust the spice level according to personal tolerance – so finally this is one place where we don’t have to worry about our mouths being on fire!

It’s definitely worth the drive over to Deira to try The Bombay – and it’s very well-priced in comparison to similar quality restaurant, with our meal for four costing less than 200 AED.
