RUSTIC SPANISH TAPAS

Probably the most typical Spanish restaurant in Dubai

We are guilty of not crossing the creek often but the thought of trying a new genuine Spanish restaurant motivated us to take the trek.

The atmosphere was warm and inviting inspired by the traditional Spanish bodega complete with a lemon tree, mosaic tiles and ceramic plates on the ceiling.  There are however, televisions all across the restaurant including in some of the booths and we personally find it very disconcerting because it takes away from that homely atmosphere.

Onto the food and we quickly scanned the menu and were satisfied to spot some of our favorite dishes.  While some would be suspicious of it, we had to go ahead and try the Boquerones En Vinagre, sardines served in oil and vinegar-full of flavor and a must-try.

As carb fanatics we obviously had to order the Patata Bravas, a quintessential Spanish potato and spicy sauce dish that we were quick to eat up.

The Best Paella in Dubai

It was the paella that had us most excited and although they have a few various trademark flavors we went for the Seafood version.  Hearty and filling it was a delight of textures and flavors complete with a generous serving of seafood.

A Spanish meal must always end with an order of churros and even though we were very full we couldn’t help but wipe up every last crumb of the light and crispy dessert that was perfectly sweet.

Casa de Tapas offers a collection of wholly Spanish tapas including fresh seafood, cured cheeses and paellas.  As fans of the cuisine we are excited to have discovered this spot that is the only place in Dubai that offers an authentic piece of Espana to its residents.
