Cassette is more than just a bistro.

The Courtyard, Al Quoz has a quaint and charming feel that we absolutely adore. There is a brand new bistro that has opened its doors giving us reason to spend more time there-with our laptops, of course!

Cassette is a bistro with a “Modern Parisian Direction.” The bright and airy decor is the first thing that captivated us about it. The leafy plants, posters on the wall (we want them all!) and the laid-back atmosphere all make the place extremely appealing.

The one-page menu includes all-day breakfast (we hear the smashed avo toast is a huge hit), lunch or dinner. From healthy dishes to comfort food (yes, they have sweet potato fries), artisanal coffee, variety of teas, homemade juices and seasonal drinks, there is something for every taste. Oh, and there is a kid’s menu also-so don’t be afraid to bring the little ones along.

We tried a mix of different dishes. The raw vegetable patch (47 AED) was a guilt-free plate of shaved vegetables, pickle carrots, mushroom soil, puree and house dressing. The peach tartine (56 AED) was also a simple dish but satisfied our tastebuds-grilled peaches, marinated cherry tomatoes sitting under seasoned ricotta and topped with a raspberry and honey dressing. The special of the day was a broccoli and feta quiche that came highly recommended and we quite enjoyed it. But we have to admit, were left craving for more as the slice was a tad bit thinner than we would have preferred.

Apart from serving wholesome food and great coffee, Cassette will also introduce a very unique selection of music, with an interactive corner where you can listen to and buy limited edition vinyl’s. They will also support local artists in the region by inviting them to bring in artwork for display and purchase.
