Mythos is a whitewashed taverna that serves authentic Greek dishes.
We recently tried Mythos, a Greek restaurant in Dubai that is discreetly tucked away in Jumeirah Lake Towers.  Once the door opened, much to our surprise, we were immediately transported straight to a whitewashed taverna on a Greek island.  The rustic and cozy decor has traditional Cyclades islands style stone walls, powdered stone finishings distinct to the North of Greece and beautifully handcrafted tiles straight from Crete.
The menu also reflects that typical taverna vibe and is filled with Greek cuisine staples including lots of feta cheese, octopus and gyros. Â As we browsed the menu, there was a basket of freshly baked bread brought to our table. Â Hard to resist, we were quick to finish the olive bread.
We began with a simple but refreshing Roasted Beetroot Salad (29 AED)served with spring onions and a balsamic vinaigrette. Â The Grilled Calamari (38 AED) was topped with light drizzle of lemon and olive oil and was an absolute delight and we scooped up the remaining dressing with bread.
In the mains we tried Gigandes (45 AED)-a comfort food dish at its best, it was butterbeans baked with fresh tomato and topped with crumbled feta.
Being at a Greek restaurant, we had to try the Moussaka (63 AED)-one of the most popular Greek dishes, their version was hearty and filling.
We enjoyed the food, although would have preferred if the portions were a little more generous.  Overall, Mythos has a very relaxed vibe and the outdoor terrace is lovely and ideal for when the weather is cool.  We will definitely be back for more.
