TOLOSA BODEGA: YOUR LOCAL FRENCH BISTRO

If you love that rustic, quaint atmosphere accompanied with French food then you will most definitely adore Tolosa Bodega a brand new eatery in town.

Yes, that’s right an authentic French bistro offering hearty local cuisine has recently become part of the growing Dubai food scene.

French food here is often too high-end and comes with a lot of fan-fare, so this utterly charming bistro is a welcome addition.  Offering typically southern French food that is heavily influenced from its Spanish neighbor (the chef is of course French), Tolosa Bodega is refreshing in its simplicity and warmth.  With a modest yet cozy ambience, the intimate bistro is the place you want to go for a hearty dinner and joie de vivre with friends. Exuding a buzz and casual bonhomie, expect to be transported somewhere deep in the heart of France.

Food wise, we were particularly fond of their “Rillettes” (a type of pate served with toast) but if you are watching your waistline then it is safer to try the tasty baby capsicums stuffed with crab or the refreshing and light “seabass tartar” with avocado.

For our main, we couldn’t get enough of the mouth-wateringly tender Magret de canard (duck magret) and side of hearty gratin dauphinois-this dish itself is worth the trip!

Don’t leave without trying their tart tatin, with buttery pastry and caramelized apples it is subtly sweet but decadently delicious!

The food is reasonably priced (we obviously love that!), so thankfully you won’t have to worry about breaking the bank while getting your Francophile fix!

Word is spreading quickly and the place is starting to get very busy so make sure you book a table before turning up.
