Experience the true taste of Lebanon at Leila in Dubai.
Leila Restaurant is a quintessential Lebanese eatery that offers a fusion of traditional recipes with a modern twist. A popular restaurant from Beirut, it is now a three-strong chain in Dubai. As fans of not just the food but also the cozy and quaint decor, we were excited to review their latest offering-a brand new breakfast menu.
There is an a la carte option or then an absolutely fantastic combination, that offers the same dishes as the menu for 69 AED per person and includes tea, coffee and juices. We decided to go for the sharing menu that started with a basket of bread and olives.
Soon after a bowl of freshly whipped up homemade Labneh arrived with piping hot bread. We couldn’t help but lather the creamy traditional ‘yogurt cheese’ on the bread and quickly inhale it all.
We picked the Fatteh Bathenjan-refreshing and flavourful, it was a mixture of eggplant, served with toasted Lebanese bread, yogurt and pine nuts.
One of our favourite dishes was the moreish, oven-baked Manakish with a slightly tangy zaatar filling inside. Although quite heavy, we couldn’t help but every last crumb.
Albeit a bit too salty for our taste, the baked feta with tomatoes was also an interesting dish that we hadn’t ever tried before.
Our order of scrambled eggs served with potato mufarrakeh, onions and bell peppers was filling and satisfying.
Overall, the breakfast is indulgent and uplifting and definitely a welcome change from the usual butter and toast that you may be opting for. Leila opens at 10 am, making this an ideal late breakfast and early brunch option that will keep you full till tea.
The Lebanese breakfast is served at all 3 branches (Mirdiff City Centre, Downtown Dubai and Arabian Ranches). Currently there is an offer on the Leila Breakfast Menu and is priced at 69 AED for 2 persons.
