IFTAR AT MEDLEY A MEAT LOVER’S DREAM

iftar dubai 2015

The Pullman Dubai Deira City Centre is pulling out all the stops this Ramadan as it debuts a new Moroccan–themed daily iftar at its Medley restaurant. We’ve had the chance to try it out for ourselves and can honestly say it exceeded our expectations.

The venue is spacious, welcoming and traditional, yet very chic at the same time. Tables and buffet stations and beautifully decorated in true Moroccan fashion, with so many mouth-watering options to choose from. Whether you favor savory vegetarian dishes from the Levant, or have your sights set on traditional Moroccan cuisines, there are more than enough crowd pleasures for everyone.

The stars of the show, however, are no doubt the meat dishes (and there are plenty of them). From lamb tagine cooked with dates, to ginger chicken tagine married with carrots and chickpeas, every dish is divine and traditional with a modern twist. The one that takes the cake however is the Ouzi, a Mediterranean roasted lamb dish with spiced rice, nuts and raisins which is a Ramadan favorite. Standing next to the massive dish is Chef Mama, the lady behind it all, who likes to stay in the center of the action talking to customers as if they were guests in her own home.

If you still have room after all of that, you can make your way to the dessert lounge area where you can choose from a wide selection which includes baklava, Kunafa as well as special desserts that are usually served during Ramadan like Qatayef. There are also plenty of fun kid-friendly options, such as a chocolate fountain where you can dip fruit and marshmallows, as well as ice cream. Finally, what better way to finish off your meal than with a satisfying Moroccan mint tea?

The good news is that this extravagant iftar option will not set you back by too much.

Prices start at AED 115 per person (if you book before June 5), otherwise it’s AED 155 for adults, AED 70 for kids over 6, while children under 6 eat free.

Do note that an individual charge of AED 135 will apply if you book a group of ten guests or more. Iftar is served between 7pm and 11pm during Ramadan, while Medley also offers a suhoor buffett from 1am until sunrise at a price of AED 120.
