If you’re a fan of crepes, you will know how hard it is to find them in Dubai – so we were pleased when we stumbled upon a small, clean, and busy café in Jumeirah Lake Towers that boasts an extensive menu of both sweet and savoury options.
Located close to the Metro Station and Bonnington Hotel, Sucre Sale is low-key and casual. We ordered the Crepe Suzette with sugar and orange (22 AED), which came in a portion that was large enough for two to share. It was beautifully moist, with the perfect amount of syrup drizzled on top. It tasted just as decadent and delicious as it looked and we wiped our plate clean.
Not got a sweet tooth? The savoury ‘‘Galette de Sarrasin’ was prepared with buckwheat flour in the traditional French way. Sadly it was a little too dry for our tastes, but there are plenty of other options to try and we’re looking forward to working our way through the menu.
It might not be a luxurious venue, but we definitely recommend a visit if you live in the Marina or Jumeirah Lake Towers. Few things beat a coffee and sweet crepe delicacy and we will be heading back soon.
