Chimes restaurant located in the heart of Al Barsha serves quintessential Asian cuisine including crabs.
It’s no secret that we love crabs but unfortunately for us not many restaurants in Dubai serve them at an affordable price . Â Our latest find, however has it all correct when it comes to cooking crabs in Dubai.
Chimes is a no-fuss type of place with an open kitchen and small dining area. Â We quite liked the homely and relaxed ambience which is perfect for eating crabs-a dish that can often get quite messy. Â The menu boasts a whole range of crabs cooked in different manners.
Our orders of the Chilli Crab and Sri Lankan crab arrived together. Â An absolute visual delight, the two woks looked mouthwateringly good. Â We began with the Chilli Crab that was flavorful and definitely lived up to its famed reputation. Â The Sri Lankan Crab was spicy, just as promised on the menu-definitely a must try for those who love some heat in their food. Â The size of each crab was also big enough to be shared by two. Â The side of white rice was the perfect accompaniment, although we were a bit disappointed that the fried buns mentioned on the menu never arrived on our table.
Overall it was a fun evening filled with good food and friendly service and it is definitely a place we will be returning to with friends.
During October 2016, Chimes is celebrating its annual Crab Festival and each crab dish is offered with steamed rice for just AED 125.
Chimes also offers home delivery around Dubai-there is a charge depending upon the area. Â
