Gone are the days where a humble black and white A4 page listing your top achievements and work history is considered a resume.

With more and more Universities worldwide churning out masses of new graduates, competition for employment has reached an all-time high. So, it is not surprising that job seekers are turning to more unorthodox means to sell themselves to future employers and separate themselves from the crowd.

This is exactly what Philippe Dubost has done, and in the process became the newest internet sensation. Philippe, a web product manager by trade, constructed his own web-based resume which mimics the format of an Amazon product page – but this time the product he was selling was himself.

His online resume included a ‘Product Details’ page, a range of recent photos, a customer review section which contained statements of support from previous employers, and even a chance to add Philippe to your ‘wish list’.

The main motivation behind his tactic was fun, as he felt ‘resumes are not fun to read or write – so I wanted to make it fun’.

So, did this novel approach work? Well, with over 100 emails from potential employers, what do you think?
